Don't receive confirmation email from local webserver!
Since short I had the problem with MAMP that it doesn't let WordPress send emails to me. After reading the article about Installing Wordpress on Snow Leopard I tried this, but still have the same problem. For example: When I add a new user, that user will get an email with all the details, but the emails aren't send. It worked before and now when I create a new Blog with WordPress I also don't get the email (confirmation that you started a blog). But when I look in the Terminal it tells me I've got mail. I can view the mails and those are the mails that couldn't be send. Looks like something is wrong with PHPmailer? ========= Message-ID: <2da20138410b064a1bce8640741b4e69@localhost> X-Priority: 3 X-Mailer: PHPMailer (phpmailer.sourceforge.net) [version 2.0.4] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Your new WordPress site has been successfully set up at: http://localhost:8888/link from site You can log in to the administrator account with the following information: Username: user Password: The password you chose during the install. iBook G3 700MHz logic board
Trying to get rid of the logic board from an iceBook. It's a replacement part from MacRecycle, purchased directly from them and never removed from the anti-static. It's the November 2002 model with 128MB of built-in RAM and a Mobility Radeon 7500 video chip. I'd like to get $50 + Shipping, or even trade for a working clamshell, Wallstreet, or Lombard. Ya know, in the event you've got a dead iceBook and a working Lombard. Will post photo.

Datanetics Keyboard Reproduction Project
The Datanetics keyboard was the most common keyboard used with an Apple 1. You can see several of them in photo’s of original Apple 1’s. I am working on a reproduction Datanetics PCB. There were several versions of the Datanetics keyboard. In fact early Apple II keyboards were made by datanetics and have basically the same design as the Datanetics keyboard. The version of the original Datanetics keyboard that I am working on is the REV b. This board has no solder mask or silkscreen, so it looks rather primitive. Parts are extremely hard to find, especially the MM5740/AAE keyboard encoder. Keyswitches are also nearly impossible to find, except by parting out early Apple II plus keyboards. Keycaps are another problem, thought the Apple II plus keyboards used similar keycaps. Because of this parts problem, I am planning on building only 1 batch of probably 10-20 PCBs. My current plan is to sell only bare PCBs, and the purchaser will have to deal with finding components. If you are interested in obtaining one of these bare PCBs, let me know, The artwork for the PCB is nearly done, so I may be pulling the trigger on this batch fairly soon. What I can’t sell right away, I might possibly try moving on ebay. At this time, I’m thinking of a price of around $75 to $100 for one of these bare PCBs. This is subject to change. A couple of things about this PCB 1) there is an error on the original PCB, that requires a couple of cuts and a jumper. I’m leaving this error in my reproduction. 2) The matrix of vias in the upper left corner of the PCB should not have plated through holes. Plating some holes and not others results in a special order that costs extra time and money. In order to save money, I have decided to have the holes made plated and also drilled smaller than the original. In order to make this board work, the plating will need to be drilled out of these holes. Speaking of components, the stiffeners are kind of a unique problem for me, because I haven’t had to deal with sheet metal fabrication, since junior high school. If one of you has experience with sheet metal fabrication, let me know – we can possibly work out some kind of special deal for you. A picture of an original Rev B and some information about it, including schematics and the dimensions of the stiffeners can be seen on the datanetics keyboard page on my website. http://www.willegal.net/appleii/apple1-datanetics.htm If you are interesting in this project let me know, so I can build the right number of boards to suit demand. Apple ii and Apple ii europlus keyboards
Hello everyone, Just to share my experience with the restoration of one A2 rev3 and one europlus. Both have bad keyboard logic. Recently i managed to buy 2 keyboard encoder chips (MM5740AAE) from online store www.littlediode.com ( UK based ) . The Apple 2´s keyboard worked 100%. But the europlus did not. I´m suspecting that something must be wrong with the logic board besides the encoder chip. From the 2 keyboard encoder chips that i got, 1 is ok and the other is defective. I´m currently waiting for a reply from littlediode for a replacement request. I have an Apple 2e board without keyboard that upon power up displays those squares and beeps from time to time. I understand that it is normal because the board has no keyboard connected. Is there a way to force the keyboard detection so it can boot up ? Best regards Paul

Connect to WEP network in 9.2.2
I've been using a 4G Mobile Hotspot from Sprint for wireless broadband at home since moving to an apartment and it's so far been great. Fast, reliable, and most of all - When connected to 4G - Unlimited data. No caps! Thanks a lot, Sprint! You guys rock. There's only one hiccup: Mac OS 9 can't connect to it! I require WEP (open key) to let my girlfriend's Windows box connect. For some reason the Broadcom-based PCI card she uses hates WPA, which OS 9's old Airport software can actually work with. This means I'm forced to use WEP. Augh! Now, I don't know if this can be done, but I certainly hope so, as it would be pretty sad to me to have to end up finally stop booting into good old 9 just because I can't connect to WiFi. If it doesn't, then I'm tempted to buy a new desktop WiFi card for my girlfriend. She won't mind that at all. >.>

Classic vs. OS X for specific tasks
I have a powermac g4 cube that I can't get rid of. So, I want it to do something constructive for me. I was always fond of it's sound system (much louder and more crisp and clear than my macbook pro). My iTunes library is on an external hard drive. Anyway, the cube was running tiger and I found it to be really uncomfortably slow. I used to use this computer daily and I don't recall it being so slow. So my question- should I reinstall a fresh copy of tiger, or should I also try os 9? I just want the computer to be snappier for playing music. T

linapple
Has anyone here used Linapple on Linux? I cannot figure out how to send an open-apple to the emulator. Linapple is an SDL port of AppleWin, which uses left-alt. I've tried that to no effect.

AF Old Guard
Just stopped in, as I've been known to do from time to time, to check on the state of the 'fritter and I'm wondering if I'm stuck in a timewarp? Posts last updated in years rather than minutes, hardware hacks stagnating at G4s, software questions about OS 9. Think we'd better have a sound-off of the old guard, make sure you're all still breathing out there ;-) I myself have been lost out in the wilderness for a while but my first Apple purchase since 2003 brings me back into the fold...

Questions about pia 8021
I have some questions concerning the pia 8021. I would like to get this correctly emulated in Pom1. Can you write to the control registers during an interrupt? If so then when the flags get set is it whatever writes first that gets the final value? What would happen if you write or read to bits that are set to read or write respectively? What would happen if you write to the DSP register right after you wrote to it with out the check of bit 7 of the DSP register? What if you read the KBD register without checking bit 7 of KBDCR? Do you get the last key pressed again or garbage data? If anyone get explain the bits in the control registers to me that would greatly be appreciated. I don't own an Apple 1 or the replica so I can't test to see what happens. Thank you.

MDD G4 not powering on. Please help. Am i screwed?
I was using my Dual 1.25 GHZ MDD G4 the other day. It decided to go into sleep mode on it's own. Any attempts to wake it up resulted in it going back into sleep mode right away. It could not be woken up at all. Anyway, now it won't eeven power on! When i try toturn it on, the power LED blinks once, breefly. That's it. Nothing else happens. The Power LED will not flash again until the machine has been unplugged, plugged back in, and reset. Any advice greatly appricated, as i really need this machined working properly. Thanks in advance.
